Diego Maradona Sore Loser takes on Celebrating German Fans
It’s no surprise that the usually flambouyant Argentina coach Diego Maradona was flawed by his side’s crushing defeat at the hands of Germany. But to go head to head with partying German fans after the game – he can only be described as the sorest of losers.
Every right-minded German fan present was behaving like he or she had won the lottery. Their country’s demolition of Argentina deserved nothing short of absolute admiration and celebration.
You could also expect some German fans to have a go at Maradona and his coaching staff as they exited the stadium. There’s nothing like a good “I told you so” or more colourful words to that effect. Considering the fact that Maradona made an epic moment of every single Argentinean goal this championship, you could hardly blame a German fan for letting Diego know – “Too bad mate, the jig is up – have a safe trip home”.
In the eyes of many a World Cup 2010 watcher, Diego Maradona was due this comeuppance and should’ve done a better job of taking on the chin.
