Chelsea bids 33 million pounds for Ramos
Although Chelsea have not struggled defensively so far this year, they are keen to make a marquee signing to close the transfer window. This would send a strong message to ‘upstarts’ Manchester City.
The 24 year old Spaniard is member of the 2010 World Cup winning Spanish team. In 2005, he played for the senior side at only 18 years of age. This made him the youngest player to play for the national team for the last 55 years.
At the beginning of the 2009-10 season, Ramos was appointed as one of the four captains of Real Madrid.
Ramos would be a likely replacement for Ricardo Carvalho, who has recently been reunited with old boss Jose Mourinho and is now playing for Real Madrid.
As Real currently have a number of lengthy injuries on their list, it may very difficult to lure the defender away from this team.
