Thierry Henry to Head Back to Arsenal
Thierry Henry has left Barcelona to join a new side in a 4 ½ year deal – the Major League Soccer side New York Red Bulls.
At 32 years of age, Henry devoted 8 years to the Gunners and achieved success, namely 2 Premier League titles and 3 FA cups. He moved to Spain in 2007.
Despite having just signed with the New York Red Bulls, Henry has already expressed his desire to return to Arsenal once his contract is up…
"What I want to do is when I retire, I don't know how, but I want to come back to Arsenal…
I have just come to New York to play and to compete and win another title. After everything is done then I will think about it…
But whatever it is, I want to come back to Arsenal — maybe as a waterboy — I just love this club."
The former French international also advised Gunners team mate and captain Cesc Fabregas to reject a move to Barca.
It has been widely reported by the media that Fabregas – riding high on Spain’s World Cup win - is being targeted by Barca.
Henry, however, wants his former team mate to stay put but concedes it will be a tough decision….
"It is hard because Cesc is from Barcelona. I wouldn't like to be in his position because he is from there and he loves Arsenal…
As an Arsenal fan, I want him to stay at Arsenal, but I would also understand if he goes back home."
