World Title Lightweight WBO Championship
The upcoming lightweight WBO bout, between the as yet unbeaten Kevin Mitchell and the WBO interim lightweight champion, Michael Katsidis, is sure to be a spectacle.
Mitchell made it to the championship round by defeating Spain’s Ignacio Mendoza in a recent fight at Wembley. Mitchell is going in to the WBO bout with a total of 31 fights, with 23 of them by knock out. With 7 years of professional boxing under his belt including the British super featherweight and commonwealth titles, Frank Warren (Mitchell’s promoter), is very confidant going up against the aggressive Katsidis.
Although Mitchell is a younger fighter and although he has developed as a boxer, Katsidis is a force to be wreckoned with. With a total of 81 fights, 75 of them wins, Katsidis has amassed a number of titles and has an arsenal of heavy hitting, endurance and sheer willpower to stay at the top of his game.
The date hasn’t been set yet so stay tuned for more info on the upcoming world title event.
