Punters Embrace World Cup Song
Bookies William Hill have slashed the price of Embrace 'World At Your Feet' gaining the highest chart position of all the football related songs from 7/4 to even money favourite as punters come piling in on the offical FA tune.
"Punter are finally embracing the official World Cup song and despite some very strong competition from the likes of the Tonedef Allstars, Talksport and Sham 69, Embrace are our favourites to top the charts", said William Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
HMV's Gennaro Castaldo agrees: "Although the official release from Embrace must be in the frame to emerge as the best selling song, high profile singles from the likes of the Tonedef Allstars, featuring Geoff Hurst & Martin Peters, Sham '69 and Tony Christie must all have a chance of stealing their thunder - and, of course, don't rule out the re-issued '3 Lions', which has become the England team's de facto anthem among the fans since it was first released in 1996. Ultimately it will all depend on how well the England team does - if they progress to the final stages of the tournament, you could have a top 10 made up entirely of World Cup singles!"
