Amaretto Can Be A Supreme Thorn In Rivals Side
Last updated: 13/03/2008 17:07
Nicky Henderson's Amaretto Rose is flying the flag for the fairer sex as one of 131 entries for the Allied Irish Bank Supreme Novices' Hurdle.
The six year old, who has tasted defeat only once in five starts, is vying for favouritism for the two mile race after impressing at Haydock.
William Hill's spokesman Ben Clarke commented: "Although one of my favourite races from a betting point of view the supreme novices is invariably one of the toughest festival puzzles to solve. This years renewal looks as competitive as ever but that hasn't stopped punters from getting stuck in to Amaretto Rose at all rates from 20-1 down and a victory for Nicky Henderson's charge would certainly get our festival off to the worst possible start."
