Punters Steer Clear Of Premiership Teams For Champions League
England's disappointing World Cup performance has resulted in a rush from punters to back European clubs to win the Champions League according to William Hill, who to date have seen almost nothing for Premiership clubs to win European honours.
"After the World Cup disappointment we are seeing very little for the Premiership clubs to win the Champions league. Predictably Real Madrid and Barcelona are by far the best backed teams!" said William Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
Chelsea are the 11/10 favourites with William Hill to go the furthest of all the British clubs in the Champions League. Man Utd are 11/4 and Liverpool and Arsenal can be backed at 4/1. Liverpool are priced at 1/16 to qualify for the group stages and 7/1 not to do so.
