Bookies Take Evasive Action

Chelsea have been cut again for the Premiership title after beating Arsenal 2-1 in the Community Shield on Sunday.

Two goals from Didier Drogba were enough to help the reigning champions take the first silverware of the season at the Millennium Stadium.

And despite the fact that no Community/Charity Shield winner has gone on to win the title in the last nine years, the bookies were quick to trim the Blues' odds.

There was some even money about a couple of weeks ago but that soon became 4/5, then 5/6 and now 8/11 is the best price on offer.

Bet Direct took the most drastic evasive action, slashing Chelsea into 8/15 while easing Arsenal out to 4/1 along with Manchester United.

Meanwhile Drogba's odds to be top Premiership goalscorer have also tumbled.

Drogba only managed 10 Premiership goals in his first Blues campaign but his well-taken strikes in Cardiff have prompted Sporting Odds to go 10/1 from 16/1.
