Will Queen Abdicate?
Last updated: 13/03/2008 16:48
Bookies William Hill have slashed the price of the Queen abdicating in 2006 from 33/1 to 8/1 following the cancellation of further appearances today.
William Hill also offer 5/1 that she will step down in 2007.
"We have seen a run of bets for the Queen to abdicate before the end of the year and have cut the price accordingly. Punters have latched on to the fact that the Queen very rarely misses any engagement and the fact that she has been advised to slow down could mean that punters are on to a good thing." said William Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
