Tennis - Safarova To Play Petrova In Paris
Unseeded Lucie Safarova stunned world number two Justine Henin on Saturday to reach the final of the Paris Open.
The Czech, ranked 32 in the world, fought back from a break down in both sets to win 7-6 (7-5) 6-4.
And the 20-year-old will now play Nadia Petrova in Sunday's final after the Russian shocked home favourite Amelie Mauresmo in a tight three-set contest.
Petrova, seeded four, came from a set down and 4-1 behind in the third set to beat the second seed 5-7 6-4 7-6 (9-7).
Henin was playing her first event of 2007 after splitting from husband Pierre-Yves Hardenne.
Safarova, 20, will be going for her third WTA title against Petrova, who dug deep to overcome Mauresmo.
A patriotic Parisian crowd was anticipating victory with Mauresmo leading 4-1 in the third.
But Petrova, who broke to love in the seventh game and rallied to 4-4, sealed the win with a passing shot on her second match point, having previously saved a Mauresmo match point.
