Calzaghe Odds Slashed For Sports Personality

Joe Calzaghe, who was 11/1 outsider to beat Jeff Lacy at the weekend, has been slashed from 50/1 to 16/1 to win the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award with William Hill who make Wayne Rooney 7/2 favourite.
"On an individual basis, Joe's performance against Lacy was the equal of anything Lennox Lewis, Frank Bruno, Ricky Hatton or Amir Khan has achieved and if he can follow that up with another big performance later in the year he'll be a serious contender for Sports Personality honours." said William Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
