Tiger Woods'' U S Odds Shunted Out To 4/1
Last updated: 13/03/2008 16:38
William Hill will be offering Tiger Woods at odds of 4/1 to win the US Open, as from 8am on Wednesday, the eve of the event.
"There has been extraordinarily little public support for Tiger Woods, so we have decided to try to stimulate the market by pushing him out from 11/4 to 4/1" said William Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
"He will certainly go off as favourite but there seems to have been little punter belief that Tiger is at the top of his form at the moment and we are in the almost unprecedented position of having Woods as a big winner in our book. Our worst results at the moment would be Garcia, Harrington and Montgomerie, with our customers apparently expecting a European winner at long last".
