Will Cambridge Heavyweights Crush Bookies?
A further stat has come out in Cambridge's favour after the crew weighed in at an average of 9 ounces heavier than their rivals Oxford - two thirds of all previous races have been won by the heavier crew. As a result, Cambridge are the red hot 4/7 favourites for this year's race with William Hill who offer 5/4 for an Oxford victory.
William Hill have also cut the price of either boat sinking in the race from 33/1 to 25/1 as the Met Office forecast has deteriorated.
"All the stats seem to point to a Cambridge victory which has not escaped punters, with over 90% of bets accepted so far on the light blues. It looks like the only thing that will save us is Cambridge sinking which has shortened from 33/1 to 25/1." said William Hill 's spokesman Rupert Adams.
