Teofilo Heads 2000 Guineas Entries
The unbeaten Teofilo heads the list of entries for the Stan James 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.
Jim Bolger's three year old, who last year was rated the best two year old in Europe, is one of 86 still in the hat for the Stan James sponsored event and heads William Hill's market at 11-8 ahead of Dutch Art at 13-2 and Mount Nelson, who attracted support with Hills on Wednesday, the 10-1 third in.
Spokesman for the Leeds firm Ben Clarke added: "Teofilo was the top rated two year old in Europe last season and with Holy Roman Emperor having been retired to the breeding paddocks Jim Bolger's colt looks a cut above his opposition. He was unbeaten in five starts over seven furlongs last year and although he is likely to want further than the mile trip at Newmarket his sheer class makes him a warm order to take the 2000 Guineas and only 9-2 to complete a Derby/Guineas double."
