Awesome Aran Heads Ballymore Entries
Noel Meade's Aran Concerto heads the list of 137 possibles for the Ballymore Properties Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
Meade, who trained last years winner Nicanor, has been very bullish about the six year olds prospects all season and after the gelding opened his account on his racecourse debut at Naas in October the Irish Champion trainer proclaimed that Aran Concerto could be the best he's had.
Following that Naas win William Hill made Noel Meade's charge a 20-1 chance for the Ballymore but after two subsequent successes over hurdles punters have forced the gelding down to just 10-3.
William Hill spokesman Ben Clarke added: "With the exception of his second run at Naas Aran Concerto has done absolutely nothing wrong in his short career to date and with his trainer Noel Meade holding him in the highest regard punters have been quick to latch on to any value available. At 10-3 He is now a pretty short price for such a competitive race but if he ends up fulfilling only a fraction of the potential Noel feels he has he will still be very hard to beat on the day."
