NASCAR Racing Has A New Darling

Talledega Nights and star Will Farrell may have thought they had the last laugh, but professional racer Evan Darling is out and not afraid to say "the time for stereotypes is over."

Darling, an accomplished athlete and recognised is his field as a rising star, has turned the world of racing on its head as he is not your average race car driver and although gay, it is his talent that truly sets him apart.

But Evan Darling is a man with a much bigger mission and the race track is simply his means to an end. With a commitment to help raise awareness regarding suicide among gay and lesbian youth, his determination to roll over his competition on the track is no less fierce than his dedication to the LGBT community.

"Kids are dying simply because they still believe who they are is somehow wrong. That simply needs to change," remarks Darling in a recent interview.

While finding a sponsor and winning races is certainly on his mind, he has also captured the attention and the hearts of many. "Gay, straight, black or white this young man is breaking new ground. Walking the high road and making your own rules is something I know a little something about." Remarks The Lady Chablis, known for her role in the New York Times best seller Midnight in the Garden of Evil as well as the movie by the same name directed by Academy award nominated actor and director Clint Eastwood.
