A Nottingham bookmaker has been targeted in a robbery.

A man dressed all in black walked in and threatened staff at the Ladbrokes branch on Plains Road in Mapperley with a gun.

No shots were fired during the raid which was in front of customers. He escaped on foot, with an undisclosed amount of cash at Sunday lunchtime.

At least 19 betting shops have been targeted across Nottinghamshire in recent months.

The robber is described as white, about 18-years-old, 5ft 5in tall and of slim build.

Detectives at Carlton CID said the robbery was witnessed by a number of customers and they now need them to come forward.
