Channel 4 Express A Future Commitment To Racing

Last updated: 13/03/2008 16:39

Channel 4's new head of sport, Andrew Thompson, a month into his new job, has spoken of the station's "fundamental commitment" to horseracing as a group of influential racecourses press for news on coverage in 2007 and beyond.

Thompson was pitched into the best four-day fixture in the channel's racing calendar last week at Cheltenham and admitted to finding peak audience figures for the first two days, 1.6m and 1.5m respectively and up on last year, as "hugely encouraging."
