Bookies Facing Hamilton Hammering

Last updated: 13/03/2008 16:41

Bookmakers are gearing up for the biggest British Grand Prix punt of the millennium with William Hill predicting a possible £5 Million pound industry turnover. "The appearance of Lewis Hamilton on the F1 scene has transformed Grand Prix betting, to date over 70% of bets in the book are for Lewis Hamilton and should he win it will be a black day for bookies," said William Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams. William Hill rate Hamilton as their joint favourite at 5/2 with Raikkonnen and Alonso, with a British winner offered at 9/4.
