Nickname A Serious Champion Chase Contender
Nickname continued his progression up the chasing ranks with a strong performance in testing conditions at Fairyhouse.
Martin Brassil's eight year old, who was partnered by Ruby Walsh, was always in contention behind pacesetter Justified and quickened up nicely to win readily by 15 lengths from Justified. William Hill were impressed with the winner and immediately cut him to 12-1 from 16-1 for the Seasons Holidays Queen Mother Champion Chase.
William Hill spokesman Ben Clarke added: "Nickname has developed into a seriously good chaser this term and has become a major Cheltenham festival player. His one downfall may be that he likes a bit of cut in the ground but if the extended wet spell we are experiencing continues, there is every chance he'll get his favoured ground and that will make him a very tough nut to crack."
