Premiership Preview - Blackburn v Tottenham
Tottenham head to Ewood Park on the back of a disappointing defeat at Reading, whilst Rovers will be hoping to stop a run of four straight defeats in the Premiership.
Both sides are in the wrong half of the table and the primary reason is their struggles in front of goal. Despite Benni McCarthy's best efforts, Blackburn have only scored once in their last four games, whilst Spurs have yet to score from open play away from home this season. With that in mind, Sporting Index is predicting there'll only be two total goals.
Spurs have the upper hand in that they're unbeaten in five against their opponents. However with such patchy form from both teams this season, Sporting Index predict this contest will end up all level.
Last years fixture produced a feisty 0-0 draw, including a red card for Lucas Neil and an unpunished Andy Todd head butt caught by the cameras. The reverse fixture also saw five bookings, proving this to be a hot-headed affair. However tough-tackling duo Savage and Lucas Neil are injured for this encounter. This doesn't change Sporting Index's view that this will be a mild affair, and they reckon Phil Dowd will caution five players.
