Bet Vaughan Will Be Back For World Cup
Last updated: 13/03/2008 16:57
Bookies William Hill rate Michael Vaughan as a1/9 shot to start the first match of the World Cup and 5/1 that he fails to do so.
England remain the 12/1 outsiders for the trophy, which Australia are the red hot 5/4 favourites to win. South Africa are the second favourites at 6/1 with the hosts West Indies priced at 7/1.
"We feel that Vaughan's decision to come home is a precautionary one and are confident that he will be back for the World Cup. England need a fit Vaughan and the World Cup must be the priority for the England team," said William Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
