At the end of the first day's play in the First Test, bookies were already writing England's chances of winning the game or retaining the Ashes off.
England had drifted out to 12/1 to win the First Test for which the Aussies are now 1/4 favourites with a drawn game 10/3.
William Hill now make the Aussies 1/7 to win the Ashes with England 4/1 to retain them; 7/1 to win the Series. A drawn series is a 15/2 chance.
Ricky Ponting is 5/4 to complete a first innings double century with William Hill who offer 5/6 that the Aussies will clock up 550 or more in the innings.
Flintoff is 6/4 to take the next Aussie First Innings wicket with William Hill who also offer 7/2 Harmison, Hogg; 4/1 Anderson; 10/1 Giles; 12 Pietersen; 33 Bell, Collinwood.
