Back to form Colin Montgomerie's fans are backing him big-time to enjoy a successful Scottish Open and Open Championship - William Hill have slashed the odds about Monty winning both from 1000/1 to 300/1 after a rush to back Monty to win the Open saw Hills already faced with a £250,000 payout.
"One punter has already staked £300 on Monty at 80/1 and over the weekend he was backed down further to 40/1 as his fans staked hundreds of small money bets on him, and took the 1000/1 we had been offering for him to win both the Scottish Open and the Open. If he wins the Open it is likely to be the biggest ever payout on one individual doing so - including Tiger" said William Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
