Still sexy, Sir Sean Connery has written a book of his memoirs. The launch of the book attracted three hundred fans. The name of his book is ‘Being A Scot’. This is perhaps a most appropriate title, because Sir Sean’s Scottish accent helped make him a memorable James Bond. His voice is undoubtedly his trademark as it is instantly recognisable. ‘Being A Scot’ was launched at the Edinburgh International Book Festival. The famous actor made it clear that he believed ‘Scotland should always be a stand-alone nation at whatever’. He also encouraged and supported a Scottish Olympic team that was separate. The seventy eight year old actor was in good form as he joked about his new football team. He has started supporting Rangers. He explained that in his youth he had supported Celtic. Sir Sean had also taken part in a ‘benefit match’ for Jock Stein, the well known manager of Celtic. He said that when he was introduced to the manager of Rangers ‘there was immediate chemistry’. He is now a Rangers man. The American tycoon, Donald Trump intends creating a one billion pound golf resort. The tycoon’s chosen location for the resort is in the north east of Scotland. Although the project is raising a great deal of controversy, Sir Sean likes the idea. He does admit that he has no idea ‘what the local repercussions will be’ but called the idea ‘terrific’. He believed it would give that part of Scotland a boost as it was ‘pretty neglected’. Sir Sean also made it clear that he and Donald Trump got on well and were good friends. He did grin at his fans at the book launch and said ‘I get spat on when I go to Parkhead’. Document Actions |
