Webcam Poker

Webcam poker hit the internet in April of 2008.  To update the progress of how well it is working, several online casinos have released more news regarding webcam online poker.  In the past players would have to rely on playing the game without seeing their opponent.  This made things like bluffing impossible to detect regarding the card hands these individuals were playing.  To make the online poker industry a little more fun for players several sites bid on webcam poker.

With the webcam players are able to observe and converse with each other.  This has been an innovation for online poker which was ready for a new innovation.  Several individuals still preferred land casinos with the advantage of seeing the other players in games like Texas Hold’em.  While the online industry has been a huge hit, they were still lacking social interaction to make the online poker just as great.

The online poker casinos that have webcam capabilities have been increasing their numbers of players since April.  In fact their numbers have doubled.  Not all online poker players are enamored of the new webcam idea though.  For poker players who aren’t as good they find the webcams are taking away from their winnings.  They like the social aspect, but their faces are sometimes just too easy to read for the more seasoned players.

Competition in online poker is fierce.  There are many who want to win and keep on winning.  For the excellent players the webcams are the way to go as it enhances their online poker playing.

With the success of online poker places with webcam capabilities, many more online poker places have decided they need to change over to the technology.  For players it means buying a camera to use with the computer.  A webcam is fairly cheap, but without it you will not be able to talk and see the competition.

For now the players who aren’t fans of the webcams are going to be safe.  As the industry continues to make changes though they might need to upgrade just to continue in the games.  For the moment the webcams are optional for play, but soon these games could rule out those without the technology.

In this case they would have to join the non webcam online poker tables.  For the poker sites this has meant an increase in revenue that will surely continue.
