The William Hill Poker Room Review

Last updated: 13/03/2008 17:46

Launched in January 2003 by the UK's biggest UK casino, William Hill's Poker Room became an instant hit with hundreds of players taking part on the first day alone. Since then, the Poker Room has continued to grow an an ever-accelerating pace. One thing seems certain: the launch of the Poker Room was a good idea.

At William Hill Poker room, which actually features several different rooms or 'tables', players can take on other real players from around the world. There is also a live chat facility which enables you to chat with other online players.

Up to 10 players can take a seat at a table. There are currently over 70 live tables from which to choose.

New To Poker?

Don't know how to player poker? Or perhaps you're worried about being taken down in minutes by the experts? Fear not. If you're a newcomer, or just want to get a feel for things, there are free-play tables available so you can learn the games. You also won't be alone in finding your way around. One thing we noticed is that there are lots of poker-newcomers at the tables. Many appeared more than happy to throw money around while not really knowing what they were doing. For a player who knows even basic poker rules, this can be a place to walk away with some very easy profits.

Getting Paid To Play

For every hour you're playing at William Hill Poker Room, $5 or £5 (you can decide to play in US$ or UK £) will be credited to your account. You can spend a total of five hours of paid playing time and receive a maximum credit of $25 or £25 free.

Initially, the welcome bonus was introduced as an incentive to ensure the Poker Room had plenty of players when it first launched. What quickly become clear from the number of players who joined was that no incentive was necessary. In any event, William Hill have decided, for now at least, to keep the welcome bonus as an additional benefit for new players

Game Features

At the time of writing, players can play 7 Card Stud or Texas Hold 'Em (recommended for first-time players). A detailed 'log viewer' lets players see their hand history at any time, helping you to see where you went wrong or relive those winning moments.

24/7 customer service is available.
