World Series Of Poker (WSOP) Reaches Final Two Tables
After just three and a half hours, the field of players on day seven of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) tournament has been reduced from 27 to 18 tables and the player have been reseated at 2 tables.
Richard Wyrick was the first to be eliminated as his A, 7 did not hold up to Jamie Gold's A, K. Siddarth Jain was next to be eliminated with his pocket 8s beaten by Prahlad Friedman's pocket Ks and a King on the flop. Mark Garner was eliminated by Dustin Holmes shortly after calling pocket 5s against pocket Aces.
Eliminated in 24th position, with $494,797, was Eric Lynch. Jamie Gold's pocket 10s were too much for his A, 6 and Jamie Gold's stack has continued to rise impressively. Rob Rosemans A, J was knocked out of the tournament in 23rd by Leif Force pocket Aces.
Jamie Gold took another scalp by eliminating Lee Kort in 22nd place, both players had three of a kind, Jacks, but Gold had the higher kicker with an Ace.
As the blinds rose to $30,000 and $60,000 with a $10,000 ante the play became more edgy particularly as players who make the final 18 are guaranteed $659,730.
After the break, Allen Cunningham eliminated Kevin O'Donnell in 21st position. O'Donnell must have felt confident with his pocket Kings and devastated to see them beaten by Cunningham's pocket Aces. Prahlad Friedman was placed 20th in the tournament after going up against Jamie Gold. Prahlad Friedman must have felt slightly unlucky as Gold went in pre flop with 8, 7 unsuited and managed to gain a straight on the flop.
The final player to be eliminated before the payscale increase was Dustin Holmes, neither his K, J suited nor Luke Chung's A, 9 unsuited were improved by the community cards and he had to kiss the tournament goodbye.
Jamie Gold is still leading the field with 19,300,000 chips and Allen Cunningham is placed second with 13,250,000 chips. The pair are well ahead of the chasing field with Dan Nassif holding 6,200,000 chips in third place.
