World Series Of Poker (WSOP) Players Down To 104
Just over two hours into the latest World Series of Poker (WSOP) session and the number of remaining players has been reduced to 104.
Jamie Gold is still the chip leader with an impressive 3,908,000 chips.
David Simon was unlucky to be eliminated in 115th place as both he and John Magill had a pair of Jacks but Magill's King kicker beat Simon's Queen kicker.
Mark Shanta was also unlucky to be eliminated. After going all in pre flop, his pocket Aces were beaten by Jeffrey Lisandro's straight on the turn.
Another incident of note was Dan Schmiech's apparently accidental illegal raise. He raised to $92,000 instead of $94,000 but when questioned stated he only intended to call. He was told he had to go in for the raise and he did and subsequently re-raised to which William Thorsson folded. Was it a tired mind or a crafty trick?
The players are now on a well earned break but will return to the tables with blinds of $8,000 and $16,000 and a $2,000 ante.
