Poker site guarantees $2.5 million prize pot

You no longer need to search out an online poker tournament to win some major money.  This used to be the norm, with one person taking all the moola.  Over the last ten years of online poker play websites have been competing with one another in order to win the loyalty of their players.  Today this has changed drastically and it is more common to find these sites offering more and more big money incentives to attract new players.  Following this mode of thinking, VC Poker announced this week that they are launching a new online tournament that is guaranteeing players a total of $2.5 million in prizes with the winner receiving $500,000.

The tournament will be held on September 7, 2008, and will include a $1,500 + $80 buy-in event.  VC Poker is expecting over 100,000 players to sign up for the tournament and attempt to qualify for it during the next few months.  Some of the players that may be involved include World Snooker Champion Ken Doherty, a patron of the site. Players can attempt to qualify for a seat in the tournament for wagers as little as $3.30 in sub satellites.  Players who are new to VC Poker can qualify at no cost.  Players who sign up in July of 2008 are eligible to also play in the free buy-in to the main event.

Current players who are collecting VC Poker action points who earn 2500 of them between July 1 and 5th get to immediately join a special satellite tournament on the site that will be held on July 15th.  High rollers can play in a 50/50 heads up qualifier that leads to the main event in exchange for 350,000 action points.
