Celebs step out on the footie field for a good cause Celebrities Pete Doherty - recently released from jail - Amy Winehouse, Jade Goody and Pixie Geldof all showed up for a charity football match held to raise money for the Samaritans. The Samaritans' Celebrity Soccer Six has become an annual event, and was last year won by Doherty's band Babyshambles. This year they competed against bands McFly, Faithless and Twang. It was a little odd to see Jade Goody and Amy Winehouse on a footie field - it's hard to imagine an unsportier pair. Former Big Brother star and self-confessed fast food junkie Jade has been trying to lose weight and get fit, and even entered the London Marathon in 2006. She made it to the 18th mile, and then had to be carried off on a stretcher. Both Doherty and Winehouse have had problems with drugs, and Amy is not looking healthy of late, getting thinner and thinner. The pair recently recorded an odd video on YouTube, involving mice, and are soon planning a duet. Doherty explained that he supports the Samaritans, who provide an important free service called the Listening Service for people in trouble or emotional distress. The Samaritans also work with inmates in prisons and set up a scheme to train prisoners to help each other, something which Pete experienced firts hand when he spent time behind bars. In the end, Faithless beat Doherty's team to take the trophy in the Millwall stadium.
