PaddyPower raises money for charity with eggy betting

Eggycam takes flight PaddyPower, the Irish bookmaker, likes to have a laugh. Their latest innovation is sure to raise a giggle, and hopefully a lot more. Got the urge to place a bet? Go to eggycam and decide which of the 10 eggs on display you think will hatch first! The site has a constant webcam showing the eggy contestants, so you can watch the numbered eggs as their occupants come to life, and see which you think will be the leader of the brood. You can also bet on the sex of the first chick out, and on whether the eldest chick will be an odd or an even number. The eggs are being raised on a farm, and will live free-range once they hatch. Eggs usually take 21 days to hatch, but like human births, it's not an exact science. The gambling eggs were laid on 18th July. The egg-keepers had debated whether to dye the eggs so the chicks would emerge in different colours, but decided that more testing was needed before they could be sure of not harming the little chicks. All proceeds will be donated to the Downs Syndrome foundation in Ireland. To have a go, check out: Eggycam at Paddypower http://www.eggycam.com/Document Actions |
