Lily Allen faints in Cannes

The singer Lily Allen who is every bit as unique as Amy Winehouse is obviously having difficulties.  It is common knowledge that she has had a rough time of late.  In January of this year she had a miscarriage.  Allen fell pregnant while in a relationship with Ed Simons, the DJ who is fifteen years older than her.  Allen made no secret of the fact that she was madly in love with Simons right from the word go.  The couple split two weeks after the miscarriage and it is believed that this is one of Allen’s main problems.  She is having a very hard time without Simons.  Simons found it hard to cope with Allen’s deep unhappiness caused by the miscarriage.  He did however encourage her to quit smoking and saw to it that she had a holiday in the Maldives.

To her credit, Allen did seek help for her depression and booked herself into a clinic.  She was given permission to carry on with her BBC Three talk show.  The troubled singer was also allowed to go out socializing.  She is still receiving treatment but lives at home and not at the clinic.  Until nine months ago Allen was living with her mum.  It can be difficult living on your own for the first time, and it seems she may be feeling lonely.  Lily recently moved in with Robertson Furze.  She was briefly romantically linked to the thirty year old but friends are adamant that the two are now just friends.        

The Lily Allen of today is not the same young talent that emerged with her wildly popular song Smile  just two years ago.  Fans were entranced by her sweet voice and original style.  Allen has not had what could be called an easy life.  At the age of four years old Allen’s father left for good.  Allen and her mum struggled for money.  Father and daughter never spoke until Allen turned fifteen.  He has been seen out with her partying but is concerned about his daughter.  He has stated that she is ‘insecure about who she is’.  He feels that she is not coping with her timetable that has been put together by her record company.  Allen’s father believes she may have ‘some kind of a breakdown’.      

Lily Allen’s behavior in public is becoming very odd.  At the recent Cannes film festival she was caught on camera over intoxicated and even stripped off her bikini in front of the paparazzi.  She then fainted in a taxi on the way home.  Lily was in Cannes with her father to publicize his new film.  The film is about Dodi and Princess Diana.  Allen herself had been chosen by the late Diana’s sons to perform at the memorial concert held to raise money for their mum’s charities.  At that event Allen had looked young, fresh and happy.  The princes were obviously delighted with her performance.

What is also of great concern to her many fans is that Lily was recently diagnosed as having a heart murmur.  Her friends and family believe it is time for her to take a break and sort herself out.  Hopefully, Lily Allen will take their advice.
