Harrison Ford saves the rainforests...by waxing

Harrison Ford, the charming yet intrepid star of Indiana Jones, appears in a rather unusual advert promoting awareness of deforestation and its effect on global warming.

A topless Ford is seen lying on a bed in a beauty salon as a a lady smears his chest with hot wax.  She then proceeds to rip off a section of his chest hair - Ford visibly winces with pain.

The reason for this strange display is that Harrison Ford is a director of the charity Conservation Interntaional.  In an attempt to make the public aware of the devastating consequences of deforestation, Harrison makes an analogy with the chest-waxing, saying:

"Every bit of rainforest that gets ripped out over there, really hurts us over here" .

Ford's latest film, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, was just released at the Cannes Film Festival.  Some thought Harrison Ford was too old, at 65, to reprise the role of Indie, but he was very enthusiastic about retaking the role.

Harrison is very involved in Conservation International's campaign to save the world's rainforests.
