Kim Kardashian Rocks the Red Carpet at Emmy Awards

So the Emmy’s have come and gone and produced a list of winners, which we must confess, are largely foreign.

Let’s face it, if you haven’t been watching the likes of ‘Glee’, ‘Big Bang Theory’ or ‘Modern Family’, your chances or recognising any Emmy Award winners is quite slim.

It does, however, lead one to ponder on the real stars of today’s TV – the reality star. What about these guys and their contributions to our every day lives? Surely this warrants an award here or there?

Sadly it seems the 61st Annual Emmy Award ceremony left the bulk of these people well and truly off their list. So we’ve taken it upon ourselves to come up with our own list of Emmy winners who should be rewarded for lighting up our front rooms day in day out, and entertaining us in some very ‘real’ ways.

Even though their budgets may not mirror yours or mine, who can even begin to discuss reality TV without mentioning the Kardashian clan?

Come to think of it, their lives are absolutely nothing like mine. Glamour, public appearances, a fleet of luxury vehicles and a family that puts Brady Bunch numbers to shame. This blended family are roping in the ratings with ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians’ and their off season spin off ‘Kourtney and Khloe take Miami’.

Kourtney Kardashian’s delivery of baby Mason should have garnered this girl an automatic Emmy. When asked if she wished to feel the baby during delivery, this yummy mummy effortlessly leant forward and delivered the bouncing baby boy herself – RESPECT. Reality TV or not, it’s not the sort of thing you see every day and it makes for a ratings- bonanza.

Kim Kardashian, a huge crowd favourite, should receive an Emmy simply for putting everyone else on the red carpet to shame. She manages to come out on top in the style wars every time and seemingly handles all the hype with perfectly timed smiles.

Younger sister Khloe also deserves a mention – both for her use of colourful language and her tell-it-like-it-is on-show narratives.

Matriarch mum and Kim’s manager Kris Jenner should get should get a cut of each of her daughter’s Emmy’s to compensate for a) keeping them in tow, b) putting out family fires each and every season and c) because she is entitled to 10% of whatever Kim makes – and we’re tipping that’s a whole lot of revenue.
