Cristiano Ronaldo Breaks Beckham’s Facebook Record with 10 Million Fans

Cristiano Ronaldo has smashed David Beckham's total number of fans on Facebook. Yesterday Ronaldo became the first non-American to reach 10 million fans on the social networking site.

The Real Madrid star who is originally from Portugal has 6.5 million more fans on Facebook than David Beckham. Ronaldo's popularity has soared since taking over the Armani underwear campaign from Beckham.

Other pages with over 10 million fans include Lady GaGa who has a staggering 15 million supporters, and a Facebook version of Texas Hold Em that apparently has 22 million likes! The closest Brit is David Beckham, who has 3.5 million fans.

Ronaldo has already created headlines via Facebook when the 25 year old made the shock announcement that he had become a father for the first time. The revelation attracted a whopping 26,800 written comments on Facebook and more than 62,000 "likes", or stamps of approval, from Facebook users.

The baby boy who was born on June 17 and is also named Cristiano Ronaldo is being raised by the stars mother Dolores Aveiro and sisters Katia and Elma in Portugal. The identity of the childs mother has not been revealed although there has been speculation that she was a paid surrogate. Other reports suggest that she is a waitress that the football star had a fling with whilst he was in the US.

Ronaldo is currently dating 24 year old Russian model Irina Shayk. He has also been linked to other beauties such as Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton.
