Rolling Stones Final Tour Marks 50 years in the Business
The band formed in 1962 and the epic finale tour is due to end at some point in 2012. At this point, the four legends of rock n roll will have a combined age of 268.
During the tour the drummer Charlie Watts will turn 70 and his fellow musicians Ronnie Wood 63 and Keith Richards and Mick Jagger 66.
They have all agreed that this is the right moment to call it a day. At the moment they are in talks with promoters Live Nation over the tour and a source said, "They're likely to perform in stadiums. It's almost certainly the last full-scale world tour. The band realise that age is creeping up on them. They want to bow out on top of their game, and not short-change their fans."
They had their first farewell tour of Britain almost 40 years ago in 1971 and then they left the country to avoid high taxes.
Later they gave up touring again from 1982 until the Steel Wheels tour in 1990.
All together they have sold more than 200 million albums which include famous hits such as Satisfaction, Brown Sugar and Paint it Black which have become rock athems.
