Ecstasy and Magic - Madonna And Ritchie

Lately there seems to be a spate of ‘confessions’ from celebs regarding their drug taking.  Dame Helen Mirren did it and so did Madonna.  Helen ‘loved’ cocaine up until the eighties and Madonna did ecstasy before she became famous.  Now Guy Ritchie has spoken about his period with LSD, cocaine and magic mushrooms.  He also declared he has ‘not touched a drug since turning twenty’.   It seems easy enough to admit to a drug habit after the fact, but in reality, these celebs were breaking the law.  They all speak about how they were involved in drugs, but perhaps they should point out what the consequences would have been if they had been caught with illegal drugs.  The youth may believe taking drugs is just another of life’s milestones.

Only last week, Ritchie’s most recent film premiered.  It seems that many film goers are disappointed because Ritchie has once again stayed with the same old subject.  There have been rumours that his marriage to Madonna is on the rocks.  These rumours just won’t go away.  Madonna and Ritchie attended the premier as a united couple.  But Madonna was very late.  In fact, she was an hour late in getting to the red carpet.  It is not known if there was a good reason for this or if she was sending out a message of sorts.  It is odd to keep the film director waiting on the red carpet for an hour.  Ritchie’s film, RocknRolla has not been getting good reviews.  Chris Tookey of the Daily Mail referred to the film as a ‘third turkey in a row’.
