Is It Time To Get Winter Woollies Out?

As the heat wave looks set to break, bookmakers William Hill are offering even money that we have already had the hottest day of 2006 but despite this William Hill continue to accept sizeable wagers on temperatures topping 100f in 2006, a gamble that forced William Hill to cut the price from 8/1 to 7/1 earlier in the week.

"We seem to have two separate camps betting at the moment with one group saying that we have already had the hottest day and the other piling in on temperatures breaking the 100f mark over the summer." said William Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.

"Either way we have a long time to simmer over the summer before we find out if we will have to pay out on the biggest ever gamble on temperature hitting 100f."
