White Valentine Could Cost Bookies £100,000

Last updated: 13/03/2008 16:56

Bookmakers William Hill have cut the price of a white Valentine's day from an original quote of 5/1 to 3/1 in London.

William Hill also offer odds of 6/4 Manchester 1/1 Newcastle; 5/6 Birmingham and 2/5 Edinburgh.

"We have taken thousands of bets on a white Valentine's day and the latest forecasts suggest that it is not just wishful thinking. Should it snow in all the cities that we are betting on we will be paying out a six figure sum," said William Hill's nervous spokesman, Rupert Adams.
