Bookies Hoping Punters Are Barking Up The Wrong Tree
Bookies William Hill have been bowled over by the money pouring in for a dog in the 'Toy' category to win 'Best in Show' at this year's Crufts and now make Toy joint favourite with Terrier at 2/1.
"Crufts has not even started yet and we have already taken more money than we did on the whole event last year. Toy breeds are by far the most fashionable dogs at the moment, so it is perhaps not that surprising that we have seen good money, but we will be keeping a tight leash on the betting - as in the past it has been known for us to be left felling like a savaged postman by the Crufts cash", said William Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
