Grand National - The Start Of A Royal Gamble?
Last updated: 13/03/2008 16:55
On a very quiet day, Clan Royal was the only Ante-Post mover with William Hill. The Jonjo O'Neill trained 12 year old attracted a fair amount of support at 25-1 for the John Smiths Grand National forcing the bookies to cut him into 20-1.
William Hill spokesman Ben Clarke commented: "Clan Royal fell in the Becher Chase and was pulled up last time out at Ascot but he has always been a horse that attracts a great deal of support. He hasn't been sent off any bigger than 10-1 in his previous attempts at the National so it wouldn't be a surprise if this is the start of another big gamble that could see his price collapse."
