Keira Knightley’s decision to accept a role in Bend It Like Beckham saw her in good stead. This low budget British film about women in football became a cult hit. However, it was her contribution to Pirates of the Caribbean that brought her global recognition. At that time Knightley was 18 years old There is no doubt that the young actress’s background has been a great help in her outstanding achievements.
Keira was already accustomed to hard work. Her parents had noticed their daughter’s awareness of performing from around the age of three. Both her father and her mother were actors.
