Eurovision - Morrissey Out, Take That In
Following the very welcome news (for anyone with ears) that Morrissey will take no part in the United Kingdom's entry for the Eurovision Song contest, bookmakers William Hill have pushed the price of the UK winning from 14/1 to 20/1 and shortened the price of the UK entrant getting 'nil point' from 40/1 to 33/1.
Amongst the names in the frame, William Hill rate former Atomic Kitten Liz McClaron their 6/4 favourite to represent the UK in Helsinki on the 12th of May and offer 10/1 that Jordan & Peter get the gig, 16/1 Dannii Minogue and 25/1 Take That who recently performed the interval act at Denmark's national final last week.
"It looks like Liz McClaron and Brian Harvey are all but certain to be in the short-list of six but Eurovison fans will be desperate for Take That to represent the UK and if they did we would make the UK our favourites for the first time in ten years", said William Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
Who Will Represent UK Eurovision 2007? Betting Odds: 6/4 Liz McClaron; 8/1 Michelle McManus; 10/1 Brian Harvey, 10/1 Journey South; 10/1 Jordan & Peter; 12/1 Charlotte Church; 16/1 Dannii Minogue; 25/1 Bucks Fizz; 25/1 Take That; 100/1 Robbie Williams.
