Final Bafta Odds And Oscar Prices

Last updated: 13/03/2008 16:57

All three of the major BAFTA awards finished with red hot favourites, with the betting suggesting an easy win for both Helen Mirren and Forest Whitaker for the Best Actor and Actress awards. But the Best Film looks far more open with good money for all the top three; The Departed; The Queen and Little Miss Sunshine.

The Oscar betting remains open and tells a similar story with Helen and Forest looking like certainties and the Best Film and Best Director the best chances for an upset. Helen Mirren is 1/25 for the best actress Oscar with bets of £3,000 and £2,500 accepted. Whilst Forest Whitaker remains a 1/8 shot.

"Helen Mirren is fantastic as the Queen and couple that with the fact that Americans are great fans of the Royal family. She must be bringing the Oscar across the water," said William Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
