Blears 8/1 For Deputy Labour Leader
Last updated: 13/03/2008 16:54
Bookies William Hill rate Labour Chairman Hazel Blears as their 8/1 fourth favourite to become the next deputy Labour leader and have seen the price nibbled at, as punters pre-empt her expected declaration that she will run for the position in the next week or so.
Hilary Benn is the 3/1 favourite with Alan Johnson offered at 4/1 following support earlier in the week.
"The deputy leader market is far more open than the next Leader market and we have seen bets for twenty different contenders. We fully expect this market to have plenty of twists yet," said William Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
