No More Bets On Zimmers Number 1

Bookies William Hill have closed the betting on OAP group the Zimmers gaining a number 1 spot this weekend following a succession of bets. The original quote of 100/1 looks a very generous price and William Hill's cut the price all the way down to 10/1 before closing the betting today. 

"We very rarely bet on the charts as is very difficult to get right and the industry insiders invariably take us to the cleaners. When we first quoted the Zimmers at 100/1 none of us had heard of the group but we certainly have now and despite the fact that we still think it is unlikely that they will make it to number 1 we don't want any more money on it," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.

William Hill are offering 33/1 that the Zimmers manage to get the Christmas number 1, but they will be up against it as it looks likely they will have to take on the powerhouse of the X Factor winner who are the favourites at 4/6 and the Spice Girls who have been by far the best backed group and are currently 6/1 for the top spot with a potential payout of £20,000 already.
