You Bet 2007 Will Be Hottest On Record
With a cold snap finally forecast, bookies William Hill are offering 10/1 that snow will fall in London at any point over the extended Easter weekend.
For those look forward to a possible scorcher of a summer, William Hill's offer 2/1 that 2007 will be the hottest year ever beating the record of 9.7C set in 2006 and quote 4/11 that the mean temperature fails to exceed the 2006 high.
The bookies also offer 8/1 that the temperature will exceed 100F at some point in 2006 and 16/1 that a new record temperature will be recorded (presently 101.3).
"Weather wagers are becoming increasingly popular and we were saved a massive six figure payout when the temperatures just failed to hit 100F in 2006. If a new record is set in 2007 then we could be facing a similar payout," said William Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
