Card Counting Application Sells
Sales of popular iPhone application, the Blackjack Card Counter has dramatically increased since featuring on CNN.
The application was developed in Australia by Travis Yates and can be bought through the iTunes online store for as little as $2.49. The application has come to the attention of the Nevada Gaming Control Board who has subsequently warned Las Vegas casinos about the application. This has further contributed to the demand of the application.
Casinos globally do not allow card counting devices, electronic or otherwise onto the gaming floor. Further, casinos have been know in the past to throw players out of the casino if they suspect the payer has been card counting.
The Blackjack Card Counter works by counting the number of high cards versus the number of low cards. When more low cards have been played, the balance of probability shifts and players should bet accordingly. The application educates player with computer-generated blackjack hands.
The application can work in “stealth” mode while hidden on the player, only needed the player to know where to press on the screen, either high or low card. The iPhone will then alert the player by vibrating when it’s the right time to bet.
Developer, Yates said he “developed the application so people could practice card counting and use it with friends at home". Further he expected sales to “probably increase” due to the demand.
Randall Sayre, board member of the said the application made card counting “easy” and perhaps more important "significantly more accurately".
