Online Tournament Records Broken

Every day records are made. It can be in the sporting industry where an individual athlete or an entire sports team sets a new physical standard. It can be in the business industry where stock prices climb to an all time high setting new financial industry records.  One place where record breaking makes headlines is the online casino gaming industry.

There are various ways that one can break an online gaming record. It can come from landing the correct symbols on the playing screen to be eligible for the progressive jackpot prize. It can come from having an impressive perfect hand dealt in cards. It can also come in tournament play. The latter example is the most recent record breaking occurrence in the online gaming world

Within a single 24 hour period, a No-Limit Texas Hold ‘em tournament record was shattered not once, not twice, but four times. The first record setting event occurred in a card dealing showdown between Tom ‘durr’ Dwan and Lars Luzak. Hand after hand these two poker players went head to head until finally Dwan won the competition with two pairs raking in a $617,968 record setting jackpot.

Dwan went on to enter into another phase of the tournament. This showdown paired Dwan against John Juanda. These two battled back and forth trading individual hand wins. At one point in the tournament Dwan went all in for $338,503 in the hopes of walking away with more prize money. It was not to be the case this time around. Juanda received the winning hand when two kings showed on the table to complete his perfect hand of cards. Juanda walked away with the winning prize of $678,069 setting a new tournament win record.

Within a single 24 hour period, a No-Limit Texas Hold ‘em tournament record was shattered not once, not twice, but four times.

Tournament play continued for a third time with legendary poker player Phil Ivey joining the competition. Dwan was once again part of this poker showdown going against one of the best in the game. Juanda joined this pair of players for what promised to be a poker playing showdown full of action and adventure. Juanda started with a preflop raise. Dwan answered by moving all in to which Ivey raised $16,697. This heated battle continued until Ivey won the final hand. His prize jackpot of $687,622 broke the record set by Juanda just hours earlier.

Several hours later there would be one final record breaking jackpot reward. This battle would showcase Dwan and Di Dang against one another in no holds barred tournament poker play. Play began with Dang raising preflop and Dwan answering the call with a raise of $16,300 of his own. The raise and re-raise scenario went around and around several more times. As play concluded Dwan showed pocket kings to Dang’s pocket aces. This poker battle would end with Dang walking away with the final record setting jackpot of the evening of $723,938.
